Bridges of Hope Annual Christmas Dinner

4th Annual Dinner is a Rousing Success

By Alex Nagy |  December 6, 2009

Well tonight we had our 4th Annual Church Christmas dinner and it went off without a hitch! We all had a grand time with good food, fellowship and most importantly, God.
After opening up with a prayer and a blessing over the food from our beloved Pastor, DeWayne Howard, we dug into the wonderful food provided in part by the church with the rest being covered dishes and drinks of all sorts coming from almost every member of the church.

After about 30 minutes to an hour's worth of fellowship and food, Pastor spoke to us about God's immense love for us, reminding us that God does love us and that He loves us with a fierce passion. It was definitely an honor to hear God speak through our beloved shepherd this evening.

We then sung several seasonal songs ("Angels We Have Heard on High" and "O Little Town of Bethlehem") and then enjoyed a treat when Pastor got it into high gear and sung the now traditional "Fruit Cake" song. We received a second treat as Natalie sung a truly touching piece entitled "Still Her Little Child". With all the great fellowship going on and the good food and blessings we have had today, I'm not sure it could have gotten any better then it was tonight. The true spirit of Christmas was with us tonight and I pray that it is with us throughout the year, especially as we move into Easter which is the fulfillment of the promise that the birth of Christ brings us.
