Our Values

Our Values
Excellence  *  Relationships  *  Servanthood
Faithfulness  *  Truth  *  Growth  *  Love
EXCELLENCE - Everything we do as a church body, we will do to the best of our ability.
“…whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.”
1 Corinthians 10:31b
RELATIONSHIPS - We will strive to have a close relationship with the Lord, with each other, and with people in the community.
“…You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.  This is the first and great commandment.  And the second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”   Matthew 22:37-39
SERVANTHOOD - We will serve humanity through ministry and random acts of kindness to show God’s love in a practical way.  We will do this because we believe this is exactly what Jesus would have been doing if He were walking among us today.  Through serving, we will earn the right to share our faith experiences.
“…whoever desires to become great among you, let him be your servant.”  Matthew 20:26
FAITHFULNESS - We will value a high level of commitment to the Lord Jesus and His desire to work within us, to each other, and to people who come into the church in the future.
“Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected: but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me.  Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.”  Philippians 3:12-14
TRUTH - We will be a people devoted to proclaiming, teaching, maturing, and equipping others using the Word of God, the Bible, and prayer.
“For I rejoiced greatly when brethren came and testified of the truth that is in you, just as you walk in the truth.  I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.”    III John 1:3-4
GROWTH - It is our intention to grow numerically by sharing the Gospel with people, to grow spiritually by maturing and equipping followers of Jesus Christ, and expand the influence of the church where we live and to reach out to the ends of the earth.
“Continue earnestly in prayer, being vigilant in it with thanksgiving; meanwhile praying also for us, that God would open to us a door for the word, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in chains, that I may make it manifest, as I ought to speak.  Walk in wisdom toward those who are outside, redeeming the time.  Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer each one.”   Colossians 4:2-6
LOVE - The life of the church will be driven by a love relationship for the Lord Jesus and a strong love for each other.
“Therefore be imitators of God as dear children.  And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet smelling aroma.”
Ephesians 5:1-2
